I\’m stumbling out of the gates on this first 2023 issue because I\’m recognizing the fact that we\’re fucked as Californians; as a nation; and, as a species, and there\’s nothing we can do about it except rant and rave and take-it-up-the-ass! I just learned that Vlad the Impaler had his victims taking it up the ass and into the clavicle. He was a dastardly fellow who was as mean and vicious as the utilities.
First it was the oil companies doing a number on US, and Gavin promising investigations and rebate checks (which I haven\’t seen). Now it\’s the natural gas companies torching California for as much as they can in this Winter of discontent (amidst the worst weather we\’ve seen in quite awhile by the way). Like Vlad, they have no mercy!
I for one, am sick of this capitalist just roll over and take-it-up-the-ass shit! (In no way am I disparaging those fond of anal intercourse — I\’m just utilizing the old saying for dramatic effect.)
I wasn\’t sure how other States were handling the astronomical surge in natural gas prices that we are dealing with here in California, but have since learned that other States are faring much better than we are (and WE have more natural gas than you can shake a stick at!!!).
Wherever you venture in California you can see natural gas pumping stations performing active burns. I can\’t believe that not a single California politician has the balls to call these capitalist energy assholes on the carpet and make them give back some of the dinero that was subsidized for them for years.
Monster heating bills paired with monster cooling bills make it hard for anyone in the middle and lower classes of California to keep up! Are the powers-that-be trying to kill off everyone but the upper class?! Is California destined to become a Rio de Janiero — where a single street divides the rich from the poor with no middle class in sight?!
I know that this year\’s energy bills have made quite a dent in my family economy. I also know that 78% of Americans are $400 away from economic calamity. And the wife has just informed me that wonderful So Cal Gas is kindly letting us know that our January gas bill will be $500! (Up $350 from last year!)
We\’ve all worked hard for our money and I\’m sure that my readers are as sick and tired of having Local, State and the Federal governments taking from our hard earned money what they believe their fair share to be. And after feasting on for the easy money we never see (property taxes, payroll taxes, income taxes) — these monoliths leave the middle class to have our carcasses picked clean by the capitalist vultures like So Cal Gas, DWP and Edison et al.
When the wife wants to start a grass roots revolution against those vultures (She normally says \’it is what it is\’) — I know people are getting seriously pissed off.
So Gavin, do something about it! Don\’t talk about it!! Do something before you lose your middle class. How blind can you be to what is happening?!
